Plymouth Orthodontics: Our Plymouth Office

2

For a lot of Plymouth families, the orthodontist is just down the road. Our office is on South Main Street, a short, familiar drive from downtown, so an adjustment can fit between the school bell and dinner without turning into an outing.

Plymouth Orthodontics has been creating smiles for neighbors in Plymouth and the surrounding area for generations. Today Dr. Cynthia Fee, Dr. Nicole Wright and Dr. Nic Shirey care for children, teens and adults here, and this page covers the practical details: where we are, when we're open, how school stages line up with treatment, and what your first visit looks like.

Finding Our Plymouth Office

You'll find us at 9416 S. Main St., Suite 111, Plymouth, MI 48170. From Kellogg Park, head south on Main Street for about a mile; the drive takes roughly 4 minutes without traffic. You can reach the front desk at (734) 455-2323.

Our hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Families in the surrounding township are close too: the center of Plymouth Charter Township is about 3 miles and roughly 6 minutes away.

Plymouth Schools and Orthodontic Timing

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic check-up by age 7. In the city of Plymouth, most children attend Plymouth-Canton Community Schools (P-CCS), a district that also covers Plymouth Township and most of Canton. Here is how the stages tend to line up with the buildings inside the city:

  • Smith Elementary School: the age-7 check-up usually happens during these years, often as a quick baseline visit.
  • East Middle School: most permanent teeth have arrived by middle school, which makes it a common time to begin braces or Invisalign.
  • Plymouth-Canton Educational Park: P-CEP in Canton is home to Canton, Plymouth and Salem high schools, and students are assigned randomly to one of the three. Many teens finish treatment and move into retainers here.

Plymouth Township, which surrounds the city, is home to Bird, Farrand and Isbister elementary schools and Pioneer and West middle schools, and Starkweather Academy offers an alternative high school program. When your child has an IEP or a 504 plan, we're glad to coordinate with the school team if you ask, for example by scheduling around services or sending appointment notes.

Treatment Options at Plymouth Orthodontics

Some younger children benefit from Phase 1 Treatment while their jaws are still growing; many others simply need to be watched until more permanent teeth come in. Teens and adults can choose Braces or Invisalign, and our doctors will explain why they recommend one plan over another for your bite.

Around Plymouth

Downtown Plymouth keeps a busy calendar around Kellogg Park: the Plymouth Ice Spectacular fills the streets with carved ice each January, the Green Street Fair arrives in May, and Art in the Park has been a summer tradition since 1980. The city's Historic Old Village, north of downtown, grew up around the railroad in the 1800s.

Your First Visit

Your first appointment is a complimentary initial exam. One of our doctors reviews your child's teeth and bite, tells you whether treatment is needed now, later or not at all, and walks you through costs if it is. Our team can explain Finance & Insurance options at the same visit. When you're ready, Schedule a Consultation online or call the office.
