Orthodontist Serving Canton, Michigan

2

Canton is Michigan's second most-populated township, and with nearly 100,000 residents it covers a lot of ground. Whether you live near Cherry Hill or close to Ford Road, getting to an orthodontist shouldn't eat up an afternoon, and from most of Canton, Plymouth Orthodontics is a quick trip north.

We welcome Canton patients of every age. Dr. Cynthia Fee, Dr. Nicole Wright and Dr. Nic Shirey see patients at our Plymouth office, about 10 minutes from Canton Township Hall.

How Far Is Plymouth Orthodontics From Canton?

Our office at 9416 S. Main St., Suite 111, Plymouth is about 5 miles from Canton Township Hall on South Canton Center Road, roughly a 10-minute drive without traffic. Homes in the far southern or western parts of the township will add a few minutes.

The usual route runs north on Canton Center Road, then over to Sheldon Road and Joy Road before a short stretch on Main Street to the office. Your map app may pick a different path during construction season.

Canton School Districts and Your Child's Plan

Canton is split between three districts. Plymouth-Canton Community Schools serves the northern two-thirds of the township, Wayne-Westland Community Schools covers the southeast (mostly zoned to Walker-Winter Elementary), and Van Buren Public Schools serves the southwest. If your child has an IEP or a 504 plan, let us know; we're happy to coordinate with the school team when you ask.

Schools in Canton

Canton has more P-CCS buildings than any other community in the district, including all three high schools on the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park campus.

Elementary schools (P-CCS)

Middle schools (P-CCS)

High schools

  • Plymouth-Canton Educational Park: Canton, Plymouth and Salem high schools, with students assigned randomly among the three
  • Walker-Winter Elementary (Wayne-Westland Community Schools) for much of southeast Canton

The AAO suggests a first orthodontic check-up by age 7, which usually falls in second grade, and middle school is a common time to start braces.

Treatment for Canton Patients

Younger children sometimes start with Phase 1 Treatment, while teens and adults choose between Braces and Invisalign. We'll explain the reasoning behind our recommendation so you can decide with confidence.

Around Canton

Canton's history shows up in surprising places. The Canton Historical Society and Museum has been housed in a one-room schoolhouse since 1982, and the Cherry Hill area at Cherry Hill and Ridge roads mixes original historic buildings with a newer walkable neighborhood. Cyclists can also follow the I-275 Metro Trail, which runs alongside the freeway.

Getting Started

Your first appointment is a complimentary initial exam with no obligation. We'll look at the teeth and bite, explain whether treatment makes sense now or later, and go over Finance & Insurance if it does. Schedule a Consultation whenever you're ready.
